The Town of Archer Lodge operates under the Mayor-Council form of government. Under the Mayor-Council form of government the Town Administrator works with staff to achieve goals and policies set forth by the Council. This means that the Council has oversight over the Administrator, and the Administrator takes care of the day-to-day operations of the Town.
Each year the Finance Officer and Budget Officer work hand in hand to form the Annual Budget Ordinance, a document that guides the direction of the Town for the next fiscal year by determining what projects may be funded. Outside of the Annual Budget Ordinance, the Finance Officer maintains the finances of the Town by keeping accurate records of all monies taken in and spent by the Town.

Human Resources handles the posting of available jobs and does onboarding for new hires as well as maintains records related to personnel and employee benefits.
The Town of Archer Lodge is proud of it's strategic partnerships with Archer Lodge Community Center (ALCC) and Johnston County Little League (JCLL). We greatly appreciate the collaborative efforts of these organizations in providing recreation facilities, programs, and resources to the Archer Lodge Community.
The construction of Pickleball Courts at the Archer Lodge Town Park has begun. We look forward to their opening in the near future.
The Town of Archer Lodge will offer a "Popsicles in the Park" reading program this summer at the Archer Lodge Town Park. The program will introduce author/musician Luke Vandergriff to the Archer Lodge Community.

The Planning and Zoning Department is a resource to residents, property owners, contractors, business owners and design professionals on matters related to the Town of Archer Lodge Zoning Code requirements and Land Use in order to build a successful and thriving community.
The Planning and Zoning Department enforces the Town Code of Ordinances in land use and its purpose to ensure a balanced community. The Planning and Zoning Department should be contacted before any construction commences on your property inclusive but not limited to: additions, cabanas, decks, driveways, HVAC units, fences, patios, swimming pools (above or in-ground), sheds, signage, terrace, walkways, any accessory structure, a change of tenant (commercial), use change, and removal of any trees (living or dead).
In addition to permitting, the Planning and Zoning Department will attempt to resolve complaints filed by residents that pertain to Zoning code compliance.
The Town of Archer Lodge is currently receiving comments on the Draft Comprehensive Land Use Plan. This is an advisory document that helps to guide the governing body and staff in helping Archer Lodge plan for the future. Any and all input is valuable. Any questions regarding the structure of an agreement between the Town and outside agencies may be directed to the Town Administrator.
Welcome to the Office of the Town Clerk. The Clerk serves as the official custodian of Town records and is charged with giving notice of Council Meetings, maintaining minutes, and supporting the Council. The Office of the Clerk is happy to help if you would like to make a public records request, have questions regarding minutes or agendas, public comment, or have a general question.
All public utilities for the residents of Archer Lodge are administered through outside agencies. Johnston County provides water while Duke Energy provides electricity and trash collection is offered by several private companies. Any questions related to starting service or paying your bill may be made by calling Town Hall and Town Staff will do their best to answer questions.
