Council Member/Mayor Pro-Tem Clyde Castleberry (2018 – present), (2009 – 2018 Council Member)
Clyde Castleberry proudly serves the Town of Archer Lodge as a Town Council Member and Mayor Pro Tem. He has lived on Castleberry Road since birth and presently lives there with his wife, Rhonda, and children, Seth, Pricilla, Dan, and Natalie. Castleberry attended Clayton public schools and N.C. State University. He previously worked in fertilizer management with Revels Tractor Company until it closed its dealership and has worked in the petroleum business for 43.5 year with his present job being with Petroleum Carriers, LLC based in Richmond, VA with an office located in Selma, NC.
Castleberry started serving as an Archer Lodge Volunteer Fireman in 1974 and spent time serving on the board until he retired. He was active in playing sports, coaching Girls Softball and Little League over the years and also held positions with the Archer Lodge Community Center. He has served on the Johnston County Economic Development Board for 10+ years and is on the NC Petroleum Marketers Association, Board of Directors located in Raleigh, NC. He has been associated with White Oak Baptist Church, Archer Lodge and Beacon Baptist Church, Raleigh where his wife formerly taught Christian Education.
Castleberry’s inspiration was his father, Hoyt Castleberry, who formerly served as a Johnston County Commissioner. He enjoys seeing where Johnston County is growing to help develop better and wiser growth patterns in the county. The Town of Archer Lodge is important to him. He has witnessed how fast other cities and towns have grown and wants the Archer Lodge Town Council to make the right moves and decisions by moving forward instead of backwards. He sees changes with roads, housing, athletics, and businesses coming to the area, and is looking forward to the progression of the new Town Park.
Castleberry is appreciative of the support from his fellow Council Members and Advisory Board Members in helping point the Town in the right direction.
