The Planning Board functions as an Advisory Board to the Archer Lodge Town Council for all change requests in the zoning laws, and ordinances of the Town of Archer Lodge. A subdivision request is pursuant to the Subdivision Ordinance, and the Planning Board is empowered to make a recommendation to the Town Council, or other governmental agencies consistent with the Planning Board's charged obligation to provide for proper planning for the future growth of the Town of Archer Lodge, and its environs. Planning Board members are appointed by the Archer Lodge Town Council.

The Board of Adjustment serves as a quasi-judicial body for the Town of Archer Lodge, hearing and deciding matters as authorized by the Town’s zoning ordinances. These duties include reviewing variance requests, special use appeals, and administrative decisions related to zoning compliance. In carrying out its responsibilities, the Board of Adjustment ensures that the interpretation and application of the Town’s land-use regulations are fair, consistent, and in keeping with the intent of the zoning laws. Members of the Board of Adjustment are appointed by the Archer Lodge Town Council.
